The page provides information for Suppliers on the submissions that should be made to the Code Administrator.

The following table provides an overview of the submission requirements on Code Members. Please note that upon becoming a SMICoP Member, it is each Supplier’s responsibility to adhere to all SMICoP obligations. The table below is for guidance only and should be read in conjunction with the Code itself.

When What
Upon becoming a SMICoP Member and having completed your constituency declaration form You may nominate one representative to join the SMICoP Governance Board.
Upon becoming a SMICoP Member You may join SMICoP Ltd by completing a membership application form. Should you become a Ltd Member, you will be required to contribute to SMICoP Ltd costs.
Upon becoming a SMICoP Member You should provide details of one, or more, persons to join the Change Advisory Group (CAG). CAG members will receive details of all propose changes to SMICoP for review and comment.
Before starting the Code Section 2 (Pre-Installation process) and then by 1 June each year thereafter You must complete a Self-Certification form confirming compliance (at the time of signature) with all relevant clauses of the Code.
By 1 June each year and also when submitting a SMICoP Ltd Membership application You must submit a SMICoP Supplier Constituency Self-Declaration Form.
Upon becoming a SMICoP Ltd Member You may nominate one representative to become a Director of SMICoP Ltd. If you do not put forward a person to become a Director, then your organisation may attend SMICoP Ltd Meetings but will not be entitled to vote.
Within 30 days of Supplying either gas or electricity (or both) to more than 50,000 Customers (being Domestic Customers and/or Micro Business Customers) You must join SMICoP Ltd by completing a membership application form. Upon becoming a Member, you will be required to contribute to SMICoP Ltd costs.
Once you are ready to be audited for compliance with the SMICoP You must submit an audit request form, using all reasonable endeavours to ensure that your audit is completed within six months of installing 1,500 Smart Metering Systems.

 

Note, the independent audit will be commissioned on all Members, with over 10,000 Electricity and/or Gas Domestic and/or Micro Business Customers. If you have less than this number of customers, you do not need to request an audit.

Planned Smart Meter Installations for the coming year are less than 5,000 Ensure that an independent survey organisation is appointed to carry out the SMICoP Monitoring and Compliance Customer Survey, with a sample size of:

·        Micro Business Customers – as many as possible

·        Domestic Customers – not applicable

Planned Smart Meter Installations for the coming year are between 5,000 and 20,000 Ensure that an independent survey organisation is appointed to carry out the SMICoP Monitoring and Compliance Customer Survey, with a sample size of:

·        Micro Business Customers – 500 per quarter

·        Domestic Customers – 500 per 12 months

Planned Smart Meter Installations for the coming year exceed 20,000 Ensure that an independent survey organisation is appointed to carry out the SMICoP Monitoring and Compliance Customer Survey, with a sample size of:

·        Micro Business Customers – 500 per quarter

·        Domestic Customers – 500 per quarter
